Fabulous artist and a real gent of a guy.

Thanks very much for the write up Cool Very Happy

No problem Colin, I've got to agree, I was lucky that Stephen introduced me to Ulrich at the Forum meet and greet and I agree he's a total gentleman, modest and with a very good sense of humour

A very humble genuine character Andy,i could not help but take to him within a short space of time.
I will be going all out to see him in concert again because it was a great night the last time and i would like to re-live the experience Cool .

Glad you finally made it to that show and no problems held you back Smile

the whole US live experience is far more dynamic mate. The whole floor was shaking at the ICA a bit like TD at the Astoria.

Well i wont catch him in the US but most certainly will in the UK if i get the chance again,i might even get up on that shaking floor for a dance if possible Razz Wink

lol...actually I meant US as in Ulrich Schnauss Smile It was funny last night, people were on the verge of dancing, but just about stopped themselves...a bit like the more uptempo bits at TD gigs.

I have always been a firm believer that "If you need to dance get up there and do it" no matter how sober or intoxicated you are or how embarrasing it may be Razz

Did you make a point of saying hello this time - he'd remember you for sure!?

I didn't see him to be honest. Nickie thinks she did when she was outside the venue

Maybe you should've seen at least Chapterhouse - they're one of the original shoegaze rock bands from the early 90s, who had a considerable influence on Ulrich's sound (he's a big big fan of theirs of course). 'Love Forever' is their song Smile

I listened to quite a few of their tracks but they didn't do a thing for me...nothing..., I very much doubt whether catching them live would have added anything at all (a sound just based round guitars is 'for me' not a good night out...or at least the way Chapterhouse use them), the only thing I regret is that I couldn't give my tickets to somebody who would have enjoyed that part of the night. Sadly the ICA was taking tickets off people as they entered the theatre...otherwise somebody would have got two freebie tickets when I left at 9.40. In all honesty I'm glad I skipped them, I've seen several artists before just because they were on the bill and I thought I had to listen to them to get my money's worth, turned out to be some of the worst things I've experienced. Respect to Chapterhouse fans I should add...but the music isn't my thing. Ulrich's stuff on the other hand is brilliant and I'll be back for more.

Pity you left early mate as I think Ulrich was going to be joining Chapterhouse for some tunes...

"Kirsty Hawkshaw and Ulrich Schnauss have been invited to support 90's Guitar Rock band 'Chapter House' at the ICA. Kirsty performs 'Million Stars and Down to Earth as part of Ulrichs set. Headress by Valerie Kiefer, T-shirt design by Kirsty's Daughter Edie-moon. "

I gotta say, those two songs don't do much for me, the way they sound in these videos at least. It's all a bit formless, and Kirsty sounds like she hits the wrong notes all the time. I suppose Ulrich's new solo stuff is much better!

Charlie will perform for around 90 mins and will be supported by Ulrich Schnauss, The Cosmonauts + A Special Guest

After over 18 years in the studio and including collaborations with William Orbit, Junkie XL and Sasha, plus his role as one half of revered act Spooky, he is now embarking on his debut solo live tour

Since the early 90's, Charlie has remixed & produced for the likes of Sasha, The Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Liz Fraser & Bedrock and more recently for Thom Yorke, Ladytron and Kasabian..

The first leg of Charlie's debut tour will take him to Australia & Asia in January, a platform from which he will introduce his live show to the rest of the world. Charlie is currently working hard in the studio on his show, which includes past, present and future Charlie May productions, such as his ethereal remix of Orbital "Illuminate" (with David Gray) which he has brought bang up to date for 2010 alongside some new Charlie May original dance floor productions.
